  • Thicknessing: Calibrating the slab to a specific, uniform thickness for joinery or legs.

  • Oversize Slab Processing: Capability for "mega-slabs" (e.g., widths over 70” or lengths over 18') that standard planers cannot handle.

Prep & Stabilization
wood finishing work

Essential services to ensure the slab stays flat and beautiful for a lifetime.

  • Moisture Content Testing: Professional-grade pin or pinless metering to ensure the wood is "shop-dry" (usually 6%–10%) before surfacing.

  • Bowtie/Dutchman Inlays: Structural and aesthetic stabilization of natural checks and cracks using contrasting or matching hardwood keys.

  • C-Channel Installation: Routing and recessed installation of steel C-channels on the underside to prevent future warping.

  • Bark Removal & Live Edge Cleaning: Professional removal of cambium layers and debris to prep the "live" edge for finishing.

Epoxy & Resin Integration
Epoxy resin tables

For those looking to create "River Tables" or fill natural voids.

  • Void & Crack Filling: Structural filling using deep-pour or fast-set epoxy resins (clear or tinted).

  • Full Epoxy Surfacing: Leveling epoxy-poured "river" slabs, ensuring a seamless transition between wood and resin.

  • Form Building: Custom mold construction for clients who have the wood but aren't ready to pour their own resin.

Finishing Touches
sanding and finishing

Taking the raw slab from "level" to "ready-to-use."

  • Wide-Belt Sanding: Heavy-duty sanding up to 180 or 220 grit to remove router marks and prep for oil.

  • Finish Hand/Machine Sanding: performed by a skilled technician, to a specified grit.

  • Straight-Line Ripping: Creating a perfectly 90° reference edge for "half-live-edge" desks or glue-ups.

  • Finish Application: application of hard-wax oils (e.g., Rubio Monocoat, Odie's Oil) or professional grade spray finish options.
